Anthidium manicatum female original drawing- Unframed 9"x12"
Scientific illustration of a female European Wool Carder Bee (Anthidium manicatum). This is my original colored pencil drawing, created with Prismacolor Premier colored pencils on Strathmore colored pencil paper. Please note- This drawing is NOT framed.
Female wool carder bees are so named because they will scrape the fuzzy trichomes (hairs) from plants, roll them into a soft ball, and use it to create a nest for their developing young. They especially love the fuzz and flowers of Lamb's Ear and Rose Campion.
The drawing will come to you in a plastic sleeve with a hard backing for protection. It will be insured and packed with foam for extra protection.
